INFECTION CONTROL

Infection Control
Infection Control

Infection Control is one of the very most important considerations when choosing a dental practice. Many important procedures depend on the strictest of infection control standards. The success of Dental Implants for example can significantly be influenced by the effectiveness of infection control methods used in the surgery process.

No one wants to be one of the 10's of thousands of people in Sydney that in recent times got a letter advising them to get a blood test because their dental practice wasn't following proper infection control procedures.

Word of Mouth Dentistry® takes infection control and your safety very seriously. We have invested in various infection control courses including an onsite assessment and training course by Margaret Jennings of MARJEN Education Services. Margaret is a Microbiologist, Infection Prevention Control Educator & Consultant to General Practice. Margaret Jennings contributed to the 2014 RACGP (Royal Australian College of General Practitioners) 5th ed. Infection Prevention & Control Standards.

We train our staff very thoroughly on infection control requirements and examine them all even in administration. We have very tight monitoring and record keeping practices including bar-code tracking of instrument packs for all invasive dental procedures.

Our Autoclaves are state of the art and well maintained Mocom Class B models which exceeds dental board requirements. Every cycle and instrument is manually checked for proper and effective operation and sterilisation by a dental assistant and a supervisor. We use the Prion Cycle as standard and Class 6 indicators to monitor the actual success of all critical instrument cycles for each relevant pack and for the cycle itself. We don't cut corners when it comes to your health.

You can have peace of mind at Word of Mouth Dentistry® we take CARE seriously.
