WISDOM TEETH
The majority of oral surgery work undertaken in the dental chair is the removal of wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth (third molars) are usually the last teeth to come through the gums, mainly when people are in their late teens, twenties or older. A person tends to have four wisdom teeth however, some people can have more than four!

Some people experience no trouble from their wisdom teeth. However, if there is little space at the rear of the jaw for wisdom teeth to come through, the tooth can become ‘impacted’ and may cause several problems such as infection and/or decay. A Word of Mouth Dentist may recommend the removal of any of the problematic wisdom teeth.

We can perform this minor procedure in the dental chair under local anaesthetic or intravenous sedation administered by Dr Simon Briggs.
